Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge
What the game is
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge places you on Batuu. StarWars.com describes it as an action-adventure virtual-reality experience from ILMxLAB, with exploration, combat, multiple gameplay styles and difficulty settings. [1]
On the Meta Quest listing, the player is a droid repair technician near the Outer Rim; after pirates attack on Batuu, the story includes missions from Seezelslak's cantina and alliances with classic characters including R2-D2 and C-3PO. [2]
VR editions and delivery
Meta Quest edition — standalone headset software
Meta's first-party experience listing is for the Meta Quest platform and identifies the supported platforms as Meta Quest 3S, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest. It lists the developer as ILMxLAB and the publisher as Disney Electronic Content, Inc. [2] This is a Meta Quest store edition; the listing does not describe a PC-streamed delivery mode.
Enhanced Edition — PS5 + PlayStation VR2
PlayStation's first-party page identifies the Enhanced Edition as a PS5 version and explicitly says that PlayStation VR2 is required; PS VR2 Sense controllers are also required. Its listed VR play styles are sitting, standing and roomscale. [3] This is a console VR edition, not a PCVR edition.
What is not verified here
The official sources opened for this page do not identify a PCVR/SteamVR edition or PC system requirements. No PCVR compatibility claim is made.
The main adventure and the cantina Tales
The story has two related layers. In the main adventure, the player is a droid repair technician whose ship crashes on Batuu; missions lead into the wilds, against the Guavian Death Gang and into a First Order facility. Seezelslak's cantina then opens access to separate legendary Tales set in other eras and places. On PlayStation's Enhanced Edition listing, those missions include becoming a Jedi in “Temple of Darkness,” training with a Padawan in “The Sacred Garden,” and taking a bounty as IG-88 in “The Bounty of Boggs Triff.” [1][2][3]
StarWars.com describes tools that make the repair-technician role practical: a wrist gauntlet for scanning, directions and transmissions; a hoverpack for reaching or hiding in places; and collected scraps that can be traded for supplies at Mubo's workshop. Blasters, thermal detonators and a multi-tool broaden the interactions beyond shooting. These details help explain why the game combines combat with exploration and light puzzle-solving, rather than being only a sequence of gunfights. [1]
Edition contents differ by store description. Meta lists “Last Call” as an optional add-on requiring the base Quest game, while the PlayStation page calls its PS5 product the Enhanced Edition and describes the three Seezelslak Tales. Check the exact edition and add-on list for the platform you own instead of assuming the Quest and PS5 bundles contain the same extras. [2][3]
For session planning, Meta lists the Quest version as single-user, playable sitting, standing or roomscale, and not requiring an internet connection. PlayStation describes the Enhanced Edition as a one-player PS5 title with offline play and the same three VR play styles. These are edition-specific store details; the PS5 page also says PS VR2 and Sense controllers are required, so they should not be used to infer the hardware requirements of the standalone Quest version.
