Which should you pick?
Pick the Quest 3S if price matters most and you mainly want to play games. Pick the Quest 3 if you care about image sharpness, a wider view or mixed-reality use. If you plan to use PC VR, check the Quest Link PC requirements first, because both headsets need the same PC.
Questions
Is the Quest 3S worth it over the Quest 3?
It depends on budget and what you value. The 3S costs less and runs the same Quest games on the same chip, while the Quest 3 has a sharper display, pancake lenses, a wider view and better passthrough.
Do both headsets play the same games?
Sources describe the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and the same Quest library on both.
Do both work for PC VR?
Yes. Meta says Link and Air Link work with Quest headsets from the original Quest up to Quest 3S. See the requirements page for the PC you need.
