PowerBeatsVR
What you do in PowerBeatsVR
The developer’s official site describes a workout loop of punching, moving, squatting, sidestepping and dodging obstacles, with score increasing as the player moves and hits harder. The Steam listing similarly describes boxing, dodging and squatting, plus incoming boulders and obstacle courses.
The official pages describe several ways to structure a session: the developer lists official tracks, professional workouts, playlists, endurance and endless modes, while the FAQ explains that local music can be used to auto-generate workouts. The FAQ also documents an in-game editor with live-recording and manual modes for creating layouts.
Platform editions
- Native Meta Quest: Meta’s official store listing identifies the standalone app’s supported platforms as Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest Pro. It lists single-user, standing and roomscale play modes. This is the headset-installed edition, not a claim that the Steam version runs natively on Quest.
- PCVR through Steam: Steam lists PowerBeatsVR as a VR-only PC game and identifies Five Mind Creations as developer and publisher. This edition runs from Steam on a computer with a compatible VR setup; the listing does not make it a native Quest app.
- Console VR: The official PlayStation Store entry lists a PS5 version that requires PlayStation VR2 and PS VR2 Sense controllers. That is a separate console edition, not PCVR or native Quest compatibility.
The developer’s platform FAQ says the core game is identical across PC, Quest (“Mobile”) and PlayStation, while noting platform-specific functionality differences. It specifically says PC includes all functionality and documents differences for heart-rate monitors, custom-song formats and custom-map transfer. Do not assume cross-buy, cross-save or cross-platform custom-content transfer unless the relevant store or developer page confirms it.
Music and workout creation
The official FAQ says the generator can make workouts from music files on the device. It lists MP3, WAV, FLAC and OGG on PC and MP3 on PS5. Its Quest guidance conflicts: a general platform answer lists MP3, WAV and OGG, while the later Quest-specific import instructions also include FLAC. Because the developer's own FAQ gives two Quest format lists, this guide does not state a definitive Quest file-format list; check current in-app guidance before transferring files. The FAQ also describes an editor with live-recording and manual modes and says layouts are saved as JSON files.
