ForeVR Bowl in VR

Short answer: ForeVR Bowl has three officially documented VR editions: a native Meta Quest app, a Windows PC VR release on Steam, and a PS5 version that requires PlayStation VR2. Pick the store matching where you want the game to run; a Quest connected to a PC is using the PC edition, not a native Quest install. Last checked October 11, 2026.

Which ForeVR Bowl edition is this?

This guide covers ForeVR Bowl by ForeVR Games Inc. The publisher's game page links separately to Meta Quest, Steam VR and PSVR2, while the official store pages identify the platform-specific products.[1] Do not confuse the Steam title ForeVR Bowl VR with the standalone Quest app or the PS5/PS VR2 version: they are separate store editions.

VR platforms and setup path

EditionWhat the official listing confirmsWhat you need
Meta QuestSupported platforms: Meta Quest, Quest 2, Quest Pro, Quest 3 and Quest 3SInstall the Quest app from Meta's store and play on the headset
SteamVR Only; SteamVR, Meta Quest 2 and HTC Vive listed under VR supportWindows PC meeting Steam's published minimums, plus a PC VR runtime/headset
PlayStationPS5 version; PlayStation VR2 requiredPS5, PS VR2 headset and Sense controllers; PS Plus is required for online play

The Meta listing says the Quest app requires an internet connection and occupies 3.23 GB. It also lists sitting, standing and roomscale play, controller input, and Single User, Multiplayer and Co-op modes.[2] The publisher's own page is older and only names Quest and Quest 2 under “Currently Supported Platforms,” so the current Meta store listing is the better source for the present Quest platform list.

On Steam, install ForeVR Bowl VR from the official Steam page, then use the PC VR runtime supported by your headset. Steam marks it “VR Only” and lists SteamVR, Meta Quest 2 and HTC Vive in its VR-support field.[3] A Quest can therefore be used for this PC edition through a PC streaming or Link workflow, but that does not turn the Steam build into a native Quest app. The official Steam page does not enumerate every current PC headset or a separate wireless setup procedure.

For PlayStation, buy the PS5 version only if you have PS VR2: Sony states that PS VR2 is required, with sitting, standing and roomscale play styles. The listing says online play is required for online features, supports up to four online players with PS Plus, and specifies a minimum 2 m × 2 m play area for roomscale PS VR2 games.[4]

What you can do in the bowling game

ForeVR's official description documents eight themed lanes, including The Moon, Tiki Hall and Atlantis, plus more than 150 unique bowling balls on the Quest and Steam pages. The PS VR2 listing describes more than 200 balls and adds a physics-based engine with different ball weights, cores and oil patterns; those counts should be treated as edition-specific claims rather than one universal total.[1][4] Across the official descriptions, the game includes solo play, online multiplayer and local pass-and-play. Meta labels the app Single User, Multiplayer and Co-op, while Steam lists single-player, online PvP, shared/split-screen play and cross-platform multiplayer.[2][3]

Other documented features include weekly events and challenges, leaderboards, a YouTube-powered Jukebox, Versus Mode, a Selfie Cam, hidden balls and Bumper Paradise. The publisher also advertises room codes and says players can use bumpers in Bumper Paradise.[1] Steam's official release update specifically announced cross-play support between Oculus and Steam, along with Quick Match, improved matchmaking and a party menu for friends.[5] That is useful when choosing Quest versus PC, but it is not evidence that PlayStation cross-play is included; the checked sources do not state that.

Published requirements and practical choice

Steam publishes these minimum PC requirements: 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 10, Intel i5-4590 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (or greater), 8 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 970 or AMD 400 Series (or higher), DirectX 11 and 3 GB available storage. It lists SteamVR, Meta Quest 2 and HTC Vive for VR support.[3] These are the store's published minimums, not a VRHow performance guarantee. No separate recommended PC specification is provided there.

VRHow has not independently tested ForeVR Bowl's performance, multiplayer reliability, compatibility or current service status. Store features and availability can change; use the linked official listings for the final purchase decision.
