Arizona Sunshine

Short answer: The original Arizona Sunshine VR game has separate native Meta Quest, PCVR and PS4/PlayStation VR Legacy editions. Its 2024 VR Remake is a separate rebuilt release, including PCVR on Steam and a PlayStation version whose PS5 edition requires PS VR2. Vertigo also announced a third-person PC/console game named Arizona Sunshine for later in 2026; that announcement does not describe it as a VR edition. Why the editions need separating

The name now points to more than one release. The first-person VR shooter launched on PCVR and PS VR before receiving a native Quest edition; Arizona Sunshine VR Remake is a later rebuilt version; and Vertigo's June 2026 announcement describes a distinct third-person PC/console game also titled Arizona Sunshine. The platform and hardware details below are tied to the specific first-party listing named in each entry, not generalized across the franchise. [2][3][5][6][7]

Original game — VR Legacy editions

Native Meta Quest

Meta's store describes the original game as rebuilt for Oculus Quest and lists Meta Quest 3S, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest as supported platforms. This is the standalone Quest store edition, not the Steam PCVR listing. Meta's page also warns that the Quest edition's co-op and multiplayer modes stopped being available on July 1, 2025; older mode text remains visible on the listing, so this guide does not present multiplayer as currently available there. [1]

PCVR — Steam VR Legacy

Steam identifies Arizona Sunshine VR Legacy as a VR-only PC game. Its listing names SteamVR or Oculus PC as the VR support path, and describes a first-person zombie-survival campaign with motion-controlled weapons, scavenging and exploration. Steam's legacy listing also notes that its co-op and multiplayer modes are no longer available as of July 1, 2025. This is a computer-run VR edition, distinct from the native Quest app. [2]

Console VR — PS4 and PlayStation VR Legacy

The PlayStation Store identifies a PS4 product called Arizona Sunshine VR Legacy and says PlayStation VR and PlayStation Camera are required. The official listing shows the PS Move controller as optional and supports the PS VR Aim controller. A 2017 PlayStation Blog post by a Vertigo Games lead tech describes the original VR game's eight-level campaign, teleportation or locomotion movement, and solo or co-op play at launch. These historical launch details are not a claim that online modes remain available now. [3][4]

2024 release — Arizona Sunshine VR Remake

PCVR — Steam

Steam marks the Remake as VR Only and requires a VR headset. It lists SteamVR and PC headset families including Quest/Rift, Valve Index, Windows Mixed Reality and HTC Vive. These are PCVR support details for the Steam edition, not a claim that the Steam build runs natively on standalone headsets. Steam's listed minimum PC specification is Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel i7-9700K or equivalent, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 2070 or equivalent with at least 8 GB VRAM; it also requires an SSD and VR headset. [5]

PlayStation — PS4 and PS5 editions

PlayStation lists the Remake for PS4 and PS5. The PS5 version explicitly requires PlayStation VR2 and PS VR2 Sense controllers; the store also lists sitting, standing and roomscale play styles. These are console editions and should not be confused with the original PS4/PS VR Legacy product or Steam PCVR. [6]

Separate 2026 announcement using the same name

In June 2026, Vertigo announced a third-person PC and console game titled Arizona Sunshine, with Sunny and Buddy, solo play and two-player online or split-screen co-op. The announcement described it as coming later in 2026 and framed it as an accessible third-person game for a big screen; it did not identify it as VR software. Its release status should be checked on the linked current store pages rather than inferred from that dated announcement. This page's headset and VR requirements above refer only to the Legacy and VR Remake listings. [7]
