PICO Store: games, apps and Early Access

Short answer: PICO Store is PICO's catalog for apps and games distributed to PICO XR devices. The important distinction is the channel: consumer listings, enterprise distribution and developer test channels are separate. Its country/region and device availability can differ. Last checked October 11, 2026.

Which PICO channel is right for you?

ChannelWho it servesWhat to expect
Consumer StoreIndividual headset ownersApproved apps are distributed to the consumer catalog. PICO documents separate Consumer Store channels for Mainland China and regions outside Mainland China.
Business / Enterprise StoreOrganizations deploying XR appsSeparate distribution path for enterprise users, also split into Mainland China and outside-Mainland-China channels.
Test ChannelDevelopers and invited testersAlpha, Beta and Release Candidate are build/testing channels; PICO says they serve the same function and can be used to organize builds.

A store listing or channel is not a promise that every title is available on every PICO model or in every country. Check the live listing and your headset's store before buying or planning deployment; exact compatibility for an individual app is unverified here.

How to browse and choose

The official PICO Store web catalog exposes Featured, Games, Top Apps and Browse All sections. Start there to explore consumer content, then confirm the listing's price, release status, language and availability in your account's region. PICO's developer documentation explicitly distinguishes the consumer store from the business store and test-only channels, so don't treat a test build as a public store release.

Early Access is a store label, not a test channel

PICO's current developer guidance describes Early Access as a label on an approved, listed app version that tells customers the app is still in a preliminary testing phase. The listing can be searchable and may be paid or include in-app purchases. That differs from a Test Channel build, which is for invited testers. PICO says its former PICO Lab submission channel was discontinued on November 6, 2024; developers now submit apps to the PICO Store and can request the Early Access label. The page and label status can change, so check the live listing before purchasing.

PICO Store versus SteamVR

The PICO Store is the first place to look for apps distributed through PICO's consumer catalog. A PC VR title in Steam is a separate purchase and PC-running path: PICO's PICO Connect software streams SteamVR games from a Windows PC to a headset. This is not the same as installing that PC title from the PICO Store, and streaming depends on the PC, network, headset software and game. See our VR connection requirements before relying on PC streaming.

For developers: the route to a listing

  1. Choose the destination first: consumer, enterprise or test distribution, and the relevant region-specific channel.
  2. Upload the build and provide the app's store information in PICO Developer Platform.
  3. Submit the version for review. PICO says approved consumer or enterprise builds are distributed according to the selected release channel and release timing.
  4. If customers need to know the release is unfinished, request the Early Access tag; it does not bypass the usual app-review process.

PICO's submission guide currently estimates review at 5–7 working days but says timing depends on app type and complexity. Treat that as a platform estimate, not a service guarantee.

Questions

Is PICO Store the same as Steam?

No. PICO Store distributes PICO-channel apps. Steam sells PC games; PICO Connect can stream SteamVR titles running on a Windows PC to a PICO headset. Confirm a game's headset and PC requirements separately.

Are PICO Early Access apps unreviewed?

No. PICO says Early Access apps are official store apps with an Early Access status label and are reviewed under the app-review process. PICO states the Early Access review standard is the same as its official-app standard except for a lowered frame-rate requirement.

Can I use one PICO app listing everywhere?

Do not assume so. PICO lists separate consumer and enterprise channels for Mainland China and regions outside Mainland China. The actual published markets and device compatibility must be checked on the app listing and in the relevant store.
