Meta Horizon Store: Quest apps and games

Short answer: The Meta Horizon Store is Meta’s official storefront for Quest games and apps. Browse the catalog on the web or in Quest, but check the individual listing for supported headset, price, early-access status and any other purchase requirements. A store purchase should not be assumed to include a copy on Steam or another platform. Last checked October 11, 2026.

What you’ll find

Meta’s storefront groups content into Games and Apps, with search, editorial collections, wishlists and a Horizon+ section. The web catalog also labels some titles as Early Access. Those categories help you discover content; the product page is the place to verify whether a particular title is available for your headset and what the current offer includes.

This is the native Quest ecosystem, not the Steam PC game library. A title can exist in more than one store, but entitlements, saves, multiplayer support and cross-buy terms depend on the title and publisher. Check each listing rather than treating the store names as interchangeable.

Before you buy

  1. Choose the device or platform view. Meta’s catalog includes a “Select the VR platform” control. Confirm that the listing supports the Quest model you own; headset generations and app requirements can differ.
  2. Read the complete product page. Confirm the price in your account’s storefront, whether it is Early Access, and whether the title has in-app purchases or other terms that matter to you. Listings and offers can change.
  3. Check shared-device expectations. Meta App Sharing can make eligible purchased apps and games available to additional profiles on a headset. Meta’s current help article says App Sharing can be turned on for only one device at a time; it is not a blanket promise that every app or purchase can be shared.
  4. Keep the store account in mind. Meta says purchased or downloaded apps appear in the Library and can be reinstalled. If a purchase seems missing, check that you’re signed into the profile that owns it. Do not assume it also grants a Steam version or a version for another headset ecosystem.

Access, sharing and returns

QuestionWhat the official guidance says
Where can I browse?Meta’s web catalog provides search and Games, Apps and Horizon+ sections; the Quest headset also has its own store experience.
Can other profiles use an app I bought?Eligible apps and games can be shared with additional profiles on a headset using App Sharing. Meta says it can be enabled on one device at a time.
What is the refund window?Meta says a digital app or game may be eligible if the request is within 14 days of purchase and playtime is under two hours. Approval is not automatic; previously refunded content, in-app purchases and subscriptions are excluded. Meta says review and processing can take 5–7 business days.

Turn on App Sharing: Add the other Meta Horizon profile to the headset, then open Quick Settings → Settings → Profiles and switch on App Sharing. If you own multiple headsets, choose which one shares; only one headset can share at a time. An additional profile’s access to shared content does not follow that profile to a different headset, while apps it bought itself remain available there.

Refund rules and storefront catalogs can vary by product and location. Meta’s linked support page is the authority for current eligibility and request steps; check it before relying on a refund.

For developers

Meta’s developer documentation describes a submission and review process: prepare the app against the relevant technical, content and privacy requirements, upload a signed build and metadata, set pricing, then submit for review. Release channels can be used to share builds with selected testers. The submission article was updated May 8, 2026; requirements can change, so consult the live developer documentation before planning a launch.

Questions

Does a Meta Horizon Store purchase work on every Quest headset?

No universal compatibility should be assumed. Check the supported platform and requirements on the title’s current store listing before buying.

Is the Meta Horizon Store the same as Steam?

No. The Meta Horizon Store is Meta’s storefront for Quest content. Steam is a separate PC storefront; a publisher may offer the same title on both, but a purchase on one should not be presumed to grant it on the other.

Can I share purchases with a family member?

Meta App Sharing supports eligible apps and games with additional profiles on a headset. Meta’s support article says App Sharing can be active on only one device at a time. Review Meta’s current instructions and the eligibility details for the app.

How do Meta app refunds work?

Meta’s support page says a digital app or game may be eligible when requested within 14 days and after less than two hours of play. In-app purchases, subscriptions and previously refunded content are excluded; see Meta’s policy for the full terms.
