Samsung Android XR updates: latest verified status

Short answer: The latest clearly dated, official Galaxy XR software update we could verify is Samsung’s April 8, 2026 firmware release. It added Android Enterprise support, accessibility and spatial features, and Samsung said Android XR would receive regular software and security updates for up to five years. Google’s April 7 announcement describes the same rollout as beginning that day. No newer, version-numbered public Android XR release note was verifiable in this check. Last checked October 11, 2026.

What this means for Galaxy XR owners

Galaxy XR is a shipping Android XR headset, not merely a Project Moohan plan: Samsung launched it in the United States and Korea in October 2025, and its US product page currently lists it from $1,799.99. The April release is therefore the useful baseline for checking features, while “up to five years” is a support commitment rather than a promise of identical update dates in every country. Verification gap: Samsung’s Galaxy XR newsroom tag lists later XR-related coverage, including an August 21, 2026 design-awards release, but this research did not locate a later dated, public Android XR firmware changelog or stable version number. We therefore do not claim that April’s feature set is the newest build everywhere, or that a later update did not exist in staged, regional, account-limited or unpublished channels.
