VR shooting games: Quest and PCVR editions

Short answer: source-backed picks span tactical multiplayer, single-player survival, rhythm-action gunplay, and time-bending puzzle shooting. The platform and mode below refer to the specific version checked, not every release in a series. Last checked October 11, 2026.

Selection method: this is not a star-score ranking. I included games whose current official Meta Quest or Steam listing explicitly identifies VR shooting and provides a useful distinguishing mode or format. Meta Quest store listings identify the supported Quest models. Steam listings here identify Windows PC VR editions; the exact headset connection route is a separate setup check.

Selections

Store listings can change after this check. This guide does not assess optional bundles, downloadable content, cosmetics or community content; check the cited listing for the selected edition’s current offer.

Not every VR shooter is the same kind of game

The list spans tactical multiplayer, campaign shooting, a physics-driven sandbox and action-rhythm combat. Onward is described as a tactical shooter; Zero Caliber: Reloaded is the Quest-store campaign option in this selection; Pavlov and Into the Radius VR are PCVR entries; SUPERHOT VR builds its action around movement-triggered time; Pistol Whip is an action-rhythm shooter rather than a military simulation. Those labels help set expectations without claiming a universal “most realistic” winner.

Input and session structure are worth checking before you buy. Multiplayer, co-op, single-player campaigns and training or sandbox modes differ across these titles. The official listing is the authority for supported controllers and the play modes named in each entry.

Pick by session and setup

The selection is based on official descriptions, supported platforms and modes, not hands-on weapon accuracy tests, recoil measurements or competitive rankings.

Is Pistol Whip a conventional shooter?

It is included as an action-rhythm shooting game. The official listing describes beat-led scenes and movement, so it is a different fit from the tactical-shooter entries.
