Best mixed-reality games
Selection method: included titles have a current official Meta Quest listing that documents a mixed-reality or room-aware feature and identifies supported headsets. First Encounters’ description explicitly names Quest 3; its supported-platform field also lists Quest 3S. Platform labels below refer to the headset version, not a PCVR stream or a console release. Store purchase status is shown only where the official listing makes it clear.
Selections

Meta’s description explicitly identifies mixed reality on Quest 3; the supported-platform field lists Quest 3 and Quest 3S, and the listing identifies a single-user room-scale mode. Platform notes
Meta’s store lists each selection for the Quest headset models shown on its linked page. None of these entries is being presented as a PCVR-streamed game or as a console-VR title. Quest 3S and Quest 3 support is explicit for First Encounters, Starship Home, Laser Dance, and Home Sports. Track Craft’s listing additionally names Quest 2 and Quest Pro. Availability and store terms can vary by region, so use the linked current listing before installing or buying.
Mixed reality uses the headset’s view of the physical environment. Keep a clear play space and follow the safety guidance shown on the official store pages.
Mixed reality is a mode, not a guarantee attached to a headset
A game belongs on this list because the cited developer or store source identifies a mixed-reality or passthrough experience for that version. Do not assume that every VR title on a color-passthrough headset has a mixed-reality mode, or that the feature is identical on Quest, PCVR and console editions. The source link beside each pick is the authority for which device and mode are actually supported.
The most useful choice depends on how a title uses the room: some place virtual objects into a view of the real space, while others add passthrough as one optional mode alongside conventional VR. Check whether the mode requires a particular headset model, room setup, boundary or controller input. If the listing only confirms mixed reality on Quest, this guide does not extend the claim to the Steam or PlayStation version.
Room and safety checks
- Clear the active area and follow the headset’s boundary setup; passthrough does not remove the need to avoid obstacles.
- Use the store’s supported-platform and player-mode fields to confirm your exact headset and whether the experience is seated, standing or room-scale.
- Check whether mixed reality is a main game mode, a bonus mode or a feature that depends on a separate edition.
- For PCVR, confirm that both the game’s PC listing and the headset connection support the mode you want; do not assume native Quest behavior carries over.
This is a compatibility-checked guide, not a claim that every headset or version has the same passthrough quality, tracking performance or room features.
How to verify a mixed-reality feature
Do not infer a mixed-reality mode from the headset alone. On the game’s own current store page, look for an explicit mention of mixed reality, passthrough or room-aware play, then check that the exact edition and headset model are supported. A title may have a conventional VR mode plus a separate mixed-reality mode, and a Quest listing does not prove that its SteamVR or PlayStation edition has the same feature.
When comparing the picks above, ask what the room contributes: does the game place its activity around your real space, or is passthrough simply an optional way to view the environment? The answer affects whether you need a clear floor area, a tabletop, room setup or a particular interaction. Use the source for each entry rather than generalizing from one game to the rest.
Common buying questions
Does every Quest game support mixed reality?
No. A compatible headset does not make every app mixed-reality capable. This list includes only the game editions whose cited official pages explicitly document the relevant feature.
Can I assume a PCVR version has the same passthrough mode?
No. Store listings and platform versions can differ. Confirm the mode and headset path for the exact Quest, PCVR or console version you intend to play.
