VR headset not detected by PC: how to fix it

Detection problems are usually a cable, port or driver issue.

Steps

  1. Use a USB 3 port directly on the motherboard, not a hub.
  2. Try a different cable, ideally a short, high-quality one.
  3. Update your GPU driver and the headset app.
  4. Restart the headset app, then the PC.
  5. For DisplayPort headsets, plug into the GPU, not the motherboard video port.
